Fate

I have been paying $300 dollars a year for my RE's office to store my 5 remaining embryos from the IVF cycle resulting in Aidan.
Every year when the bill came I pondered what to do with them, and basically just paid the damn fee so I did not have to think about it for another year.
Before choosing Kris, getting my bill each year was filled with wistful angst,
asking myself what was I going to do with them,
what would their fate be?

But the bill came this year, and it was different,
and cool.
I felt so good thinking about those embies who for the past 4 years have lived frozen in time until I decided their fate.
I feel good knowing they will hopefully make Kris' life complete, like Aidan has made mine.
They were created 4 years ago on 7/24/08. The bill always arrives some time in September.
Created then,
and given to Kris soon.
Alas, this chapter in their lives is just beginning.
Fate it is.
